What was your first radio memory?
My first radio memory has to be listening to Heart FM (back in the days when it was Essex FM)
in the car with my pet goldfish, Colin, and always going crazy and singing along everytime the First Glass Windows advert
came on, for those that don’t remember, it goes like this “Call first class windows don’t
deliberate, chelmsford 226688, call first class windows call them up and you will see, when you
pay for your front you get your back done free!” I mean who didn’t love that advert…?
How did you first get into radio?
By fluke really, never really had any radio experience and never really expressed any plans to
get into radio other than being a huge Radio 1 fan. Which eventually led to me being on air on
the Scott Mills Show, it just so happened that Amy who was interviewing to present on CCR was
listening that day, one thing led to another and she offered me a feature around my appearance
on Radio 1 (where I was known as the boring… try again guy) and now I co-host the Fresh Friday
What is your favourite song ever?
For me even though my music taste is ridiculously broad, this is an easy question ‘5,6,7,8′
by Steps. The song has so many ways it can be looked at, as it can take
you back to a certain moment in your life you might miss and want to go back to but also bring
back good memories.
What three songs would you take to a Desert Island?
5,6,7,8 – Steps, if the island is relaxing and anything like the one from the beach. Baby – Justin Bieber, to get me pumped incase the island is full of people or creatures trying to hunt
me down. Oops I did it again – Britney, it might even be a island that’s full of constant partying so in that
case this song will keep me continuously partying. So pretty much prepared for every
possibility unless I’m stranded on my own.
What is your ambition?
Just to be successful, and go on to have an impact on the world. So not much really!!
