Melissa Assibey is the presenter of The Wind Down presenting a weekly mix of Pop and RNB songs with some old skool hits from the eighties, nineties and noughties. What was your first radio memory? "My first radio memory was listening to underground radio stations with my dad in the car that played hip hop, RnB and Uk garage. I used to love car journeys listening to this radio station and would often fall asleep because it was so soothing." How did you get into Radio? "I have always wanted to get into radio at some point from a young because of my love for music and wanted to be able to showcase it through doing a radio or show or something similar. I have just recently finished a Djing course in London and what to do that alongside radio so hearing about CCR was a perfect opportunity to do both." What is your favourite song ever? "There is too many songs to choose from! I like a variety of music but 'I Believe i can fly' by R.Kelly would be one of them, I remember listening to it when i was younger feeling like i could achieve anything and i still have that feeling now! I love the choir and crescendo it has in the song. I also love a lot of UK Garage as i grew up listening to it and songs like '21 Seconds' by So Solid Crew and 'Rewind' by Artful Dodger and Craig David were my favourites." What three songs would you take to a Desert Island? "I would take 'Mysterious Girl' by Peter Andre, the song came out when i was five and used to dance and sing along to it every time it came on everyone knew i loved that song and Peter Andre and every time i listen to it, it brings back that nostalgic feeling. I would take 'Flawless' by Beyonce, it is a very empowering song and always gets me dancing. 'Moon River' by Frank Sinatra, its a beautiful song and always gets me daydreaming." What is your ambition? "My ambition is to work in the performing arts industry and share my love of music with the world."
